To reach a safer future, we will need the resources of everybody here. The scientists, the policy makers, and the industrialists, all working together towards a common goal. And that goal is a planet that can continue to support life, including all of us.
The Sellers Exoplanet Environments Collaboration (SEEC) is named in honor of Piers Sellers, NASA scientist and astronaut, who championed the multidisciplinary work that is necessary to advance our understanding of exoplanetary environments. Piers’ visionary leadership and support brought together NASA scientists from all four divisions of NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center Sciences and Exploration Directorate: Earth Science, Astrophysics, Heliophysics, and Planetary, to carry out cutting edge research and develop the next generation of modeling tools to support future missions. Throughout Piers’ career, his work was dedicated to better understanding Earth’s biosphere and its interaction with our atmosphere, through building models and leading missions. SEEC is guided by Piers’ shining example of collaborative research to build the tools needed to better prepare for future NASA missions.
